  • ( ) Sweet nothing

After a cystic acne breakout a few years ago, my left cheek had developed a few deep scars. I decided recently to have a series of Fraxel treatments as I heard they are the most effective way of reducing the appearance of scars.

After my first treatment just one week ago, I have noticed a HUGE difference. My deep scars have just about levelled off and my skin looks smoother. I'm due for another 3 treatments in 4 weeks with a month between each one and can't wait to see the results.

Anyone with scarring and enough cash to dish out should look into this procedure as it will have profound results on your appearance.

  • ( ) The burning question: Should abortion be illegal? Anti-

What if you were on a medication, like some acne medications, that could cause horrifying birth defects? What if having the child could physically kill you because of a medical condition like Type 1 Diabetes? Fewer women are getting abortions, and abortion rates have been falling since their peak at 1990, according to the Centers for Disease Control. Most abortions are performed before nine weeks, not in the second or third trimester. And most women who have abortions are not choosing to do it because they are selfish — they are genuinely concerned about caring for the baby. Three-quarters of women who have abortions are worried about being able to afford the child. Children, especially babies, are expensive. They need clothes, food, diapers and potentially a baby sitter so the mother can get back to work to afford the clothes and food. More>>
  • ( ) Beauty Q & A with John Gustafson

I had tried several topical treatments including tea tree oil and other well known medicated creams designed for treating acne. Nothing had worked until I tried Philosophy's On a clear Day serum as you recommended. It's a MIRACLE product!!! I applied the clear gel at bedtime for about a week and persevered with the tingling and redness as I thought this was a sign that the product was working. Sure enough the bump was shrinking within a couple of days and now is barely visible. As a dermatologist told me that the only way to remove it was by surgery, you can imagine I am amazed at the effectiveness of this product and I'd like to thank you from the bottom of my heart.

    Much love

    Very grateful Alice

    Alice,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write and let me know how you got on with the recommendation. More>>

  • ( ) Ten ways to stave off illness, by the book

Part 2 discusses how to treat the disorders — from acne to whooping cough. And Part 3 shows parents how to implement the treatment options which include conventional medicine, nutrition, herbs, homeopathy, Bach Flower Remedies and acupressure.

Philosophy: "Children's bodies are wonderfully responsive. When your child's body is supported with thoughtful integrated care, the best of natural and conventional medicine, it works quickly to attain full health."

Try this for . . . a common cold: Don't force food, but encourage liquids, especially camomile tea, chicken soup and a soup made with the Chinese herb astragalus and vegetables (omit the astragalus if there's a fever), the "Smart Medicine" authors suggest. "To calm a restless, fussy child, prepare a soothing herbal bath with camomile, calendula, rosemary and lavender. More>>
